Follow the source, then the claim. This desk records changes in peptide science, metabolic-therapy trials and Australian regulation that alter what a careful reader should believe. Each item identifies the originating authority, sponsor or paper, the date, and the limit of the new information. A trial announcement is never presented as a medicine approval.
Selected records checked 8 October 2026. This is a curated feed, not a comprehensive or real-time surveillance service.
Recent changes worth reading
| Date and source | What changed | What remains uncertain |
|---|---|---|
| 15 October 2026 EMA Foundayo positive opinion |
CHMP recommends orforglipron for adult weight management and type 2 diabetes. Read the jurisdiction-by-jurisdiction explanation. | A committee opinion and final EC authorisation are separate steps. US approval and Australian registration/subsidy need their own records. |
| 19 October 2026 NSW Health surveillance warning |
New ED surveillance documents presentations mentioning unapproved peptide use. Read our explanation of the figures and methods. | Triage mentions do not chemically verify products, prove causation or count unique people. The report cannot establish a risk per user. |
| 28 April–12 August 2026 ABC 7.30 follow-up |
PBAC was reported to have recommended Mounjaro subsidy for a defined type 2 diabetes population, but price and risk-sharing negotiations stalled before listing. In August, Lilly’s CEO said the company still wanted a deal. Read our dated PBS status and negotiations timeline. | Willingness to negotiate is not a PBS agreement, a live item or a confirmed listing date. Reimbursement talks are also not evidence of a physical stock shortage. |
| 23 September 2026 TGA peptide-products hub |
The TGA consolidated current guidance for consumers, practitioners and businesses on peptide regulation, online risks and legal responsibilities. Our evidence guide explains why a CoA or passing sample test is not the same as GMP evidence or ARTG approval. | The hub does not validate a particular seller or product. Product identity, quality, approval and lawful access still require separate records. |
| 14 September 2026 TGA safety alert |
The TGA reported that one tested product sold as retatrutide contained semaglutide and no retatrutide after a serious adverse-event report. Read our source-led briefing. | The test describes that sample, not every product sold under the same name. Retatrutide remains investigational. |
| 12 August 2026 TGA NAD/NMN advertising guidance |
The TGA explained how names, labels, website context and serious-condition claims can make NAD- or NMN-related listed-medicine advertising non-compliant. Our NAD+ evidence profile separates the human biomarker findings, clinical-outcome limits and current Australian status. | The guidance does not validate a particular product, infusion service or anti-ageing claim. NR, NMN and IV NAD+ have different evidence and regulatory contexts. |
| 7 June 2026 REIMAGINE 2 trial paper |
The peer-reviewed phase 3 report gives the final randomised population (2,713), primary HbA1c comparison and adverse-event data. Compare the paper with the February sponsor topline. | The result is for adults with type 2 diabetes on metformin with or without an SGLT2 inhibitor. It does not itself establish Australian approval or long-term cardiovascular benefit. |
| 21 May 2026 Lilly TRIUMPH-1 announcement |
The sponsor reported Phase 3 weight-change results at 80 weeks. Read the trial tracker for the reported estimand, comparator and adverse-event context. | A sponsor topline is not a complete peer-reviewed report or a regulatory decision. Trial material is not equivalent to an online product. |
What earns an update here
- Regulator action: a dated TGA or other authority notice that changes status or communicates a safety concern.
- Study evidence: a published result or registry update that changes the interpretation of a claim, with population and endpoint stated.
- Sponsor announcement: relevant new toplines, explicitly labelled as the sponsor’s account until full results can be examined.
- Correction: a material error in our own coverage, documented under the Corrections Policy.
Read the Clinical Trials guide to distinguish a registry entry, sponsor announcement and journal article. Use Australia & TGA Regulation to check approval and supply claims. The Research Library holds maintained molecule profiles. These paths matter more than publishing daily headlines when nothing material has changed.
We publish when a primary study, registry update, regulator decision or safety communication materially changes the evidence picture. Every update is dated, linked to its source and separated from commentary.
